Eco Emi May 2013

Eco Emi is by far one of my favorite subs. Natural products, many of which are full sized. For only $15 a month. You can't beat it. While my other subs are $10 I don't mind paying extra for better ingredients. Plus they pack their boxes so cute. So much thought and care. I love it. This box was no exception.

1. Mascara by Suncoat

2. Nail polish by Suncoat (I love the color they sent me!

3. Mongo Kiss Honey Vanilla Lip Balm (spells soooo good)

4. Athena Greek Yogurt Bar

5. All Terrain Sunscreen (I already use their spray version for my body on a daily basis. So I was super excited about this in the box!)

5. All Terrain Insect Repellant (I have the full size of this too. Used it in the Costa Rican jungle and it worked!)

7. Beauty Without Crueltly Body Lotion (great to put in my purse. Very light scent so I can layer with perfume. Yay)

7. Lauren Brooke Eyeshadow (kind of tired of these. I have so many from different subs. Doesn't mean they are bad though. I actually haven't tried. They look like too much hassle with all the glitter)

8. Seaweed Powder Bath ~ Lavender (smells very nice. I've gotten a few of these before and haven't tried. Will let y'all know when I do)

Here are the items I received in my first Conscious Box.

34 Degrees
Bite into the more natural, thinner, crispier cracker. Perfect with your favorite cheeses or just on their own, 34 Degrees crackers are delectable treats suited for any culinary creation. Made with unbleached wheat flour, a hint of natural cheese flavor, sesame seeds, and a pinch of salt. Yum!

Chia Shots
The Chia Co is proud to pumping out chia seeds all day long. Why’s that? Because Chia seeds are one of the richest plant-based sources of omega-3, dietary fiber, protein, and antioxidants. The Chia Co also works with nature to ensure sustainable agriculture; this means strategically timing crops, using the best soil, and enacting smart methods of growing, like gravity fed irrigation and chemical-free mechanical harvesting.

Organic Soy oil, Beeswax, natural vitamin E, and organic rosemary oil makes this a healthy, nourishing moisturizer and base for everything from dry skin to make up. No petroleum, not greasy, completely biodegradable and free of animal testing.

BONUS! Nordic Naturals
Fish oils are great for supporting brain function, memory, and mood. The benefit comes from omega-3 and omega-9 oils, which have anti-inflammatory alongside anti-clotting benefits. Nordic Natural only uses the finest fish oils, third party tested for environmental toxins like heavy metals and dioxins. As a result, they produce fish oils that far surpass international standards.

Ipsy January 2013

Josie Maran Argan Oil
Big Sexy Spray & Play
Pacifica Blood Orange Lotion
Nailtini Polish in Frappe
London Soho NY Crease Brush
Blue makeup bag with white stars inside

Birchbox vs. Ipsy January 2013

My vote is for Ipsy. I got a FULL SIZE nail polish, a makeup bag, a makeup brush, a deluxe size lotion perfect for travel, hairspray (which I have no use for, but still). In Birchbox the only thing I like is the nail polish. But it's so small. I'm also excited about the Balm primer. With primers a little goes a long way so ill get use out of it. But for the value, Ipsy hands down. And it's been this way for a while. Birchbox seems to be declining. It was good at first. And it's only $10 so I don't wanna cancel. But they're gonna have to do better.

Mini Burt's Bees Haul

So yea, I'm the worst blogger ever. Which really doesn't make sense. Because I'm a writer. But I write in bursts. Whenever it comes to me. I get these bursts of energy. Motivation to do something. And then I do it really strong for a while. Then it fades and I'm on to the next thing. This is probably the 10th blog I've created. And just like the others. It has fizzled. First. I forget to update. And then I remember. But then I obsess over creating a perfect post and never post it cuz I think it isn't "right". Or I figure I should save that post for later and post something else first but I don't have the something else and so I post nothing.

But you're not here to read about my neuroses. But let this count as my apology.

Ok Burt's bees. They have new lip products. And since I aspire to use only natural products especially on my lips,or at least ones sans mineral oil and petrolatum I am excited. Love the ingredient lists. And they had a pretty good color selection. I got this pink gloss with a wand that has gold shimmer. And a wine colored lip shine that has no shimmer. The gloss is 8.99, shine 6.99 at Walgreens. Which isn't bad considering ingredients. And it's a trusted brand. While I consider their balms to be staples I was not impressed with some of their previous color lip products. So we will see how these turn out.

Little Black Bag

So, I happened to stumble upon Little Black Bag. It is a subscription service that sends you accessories. It is pricey in my opinion. You pay $50. Pick an accessory of your choice. Then they will add 3-4 other items to your bag. Over the next 7 days you can trade any of your items with other members. This was really fun. It adds a social networking aspect to shopping.

The retail value of my bag was $126, so I saved a lot. However, at $50 a month, I will definitely not be doing this often. I liked the Nila Anthony bad I received. This is the item I chose. I got the red necklace for my mom. The earrings are much smaller than they appeared online. This also came with a sample of a Redken product that is supposed to help with frizz. Not sure how it'll work on my hair. But perhaps I'll try it.

The good thing about Little Black Bag is that you can skip months. So if you sign up you're not obligated to pay every month. Otherwise, I would cancel.
